About the Institution
A legacy of Ayurveda in southern Odisha since 1978
Kaviraj Ananta Tripathy Sharma Ayurvedic College & Hospital, Ankushpur, is the one and only Ayurveda institute of southern Odisha. Founded on 15th August 1978 with the active support of Late Kaviraj Ananta Tripathy Sharma, Ex-Member of Parliament, it was taken over by the Government of Odisha on 1st April 1994.
Spread across about ten acres on the Aska road (NH 217), the campus houses fourteen academic departments, a 100-bed teaching hospital, a medicine manufacturing pharmacy and a five-acre herbal garden with over a thousand medicinal plants.

Pandit Kaviraj Dr. Ananta Tripathy Sharma
1905 – 1991 · Member of Parliament, 1962–1971
A Sanskrit scholar, social reformer and Ayurvedacharya who campaigned against child marriage, served three consecutive terms in Parliament, and was elected President of the Nikhila Bharata Ayurveda Congress in 1957 — the only Odia to hold that office.
He founded this college on 15th August 1978, and it carries his name today.

Guiding the next generation of Ayurveda physicians
The college is run by well-committed and dedicated teachers supported by paramedical personnel. Fourteen departments operate with 36 teaching faculty members and forty non-teaching staff, serving a student body of approximately 345.
Beyond teaching and training, the institution renders health services and organises symposiums, seminars, quiz competitions, national-level programmes such as ROTP, IEC and CME, and workshops across subjects.
