College Hospital

During the year 1988-89, the Govt. of Odisha established an Ayurvedic Hospital in the campus of the institution, which started functioning with effect from 02-04-1990. After the takeover of this college by the State Govt., the hospital was merged with the college and renamed as KATS Ayurvedic College and Hospital, Ankushpur.

Staff

The Principal of the institute is the Superintendent of the hospital. A Deputy Superintendent is appointed by the government to look after the day-to-day management of the hospital. The duties of the hospital are managed by consultants and medical officers. Besides, there are staff nurses, compounders, laboratory technicians and attendants engaged in the hospital for patient care.

Outdoor and Indoor Block

The hospital has an outdoor and an indoor block. The outdoor functions in its own building having separate departments such as Kayachikitsa (General Medicine), Shalya (Surgery and Orthopaedics), Shalakya (Eye & ENT), Prasootitantra Stree Roga (Obstetrics and Gynaecology) and Kaumarabhrutya (Paediatrics). More than 50 varieties of patients attend the outdoor daily and receive free Ayurvedic medicines.

The Indoor department of the hospital functions in a well-furnished separate building with a total bed strength of 100, distributed among different departments. The patients receive medicinal treatment as well as Panchakarma, physiotherapy and surgical treatment by physicians of the respective departments.

Facilities Available

Labour room, Ultrasonography, Auto-analyser, Operation Theatre, X-ray, ECG and a Dental Unit are available in the hospital for diagnosis and management of patients.

Medicine and Diet

As per the norms fixed by the State Government, patients are supplied with Ayurvedic medicines and diet free of cost.
