The Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (B.A.M.S.) course is of four and a half years' academic duration comprising four professional years — the first three of one year each, and the final profession of one and a half years — followed by one year of compulsory rotating internship training. Teaching and practical training are imparted across all fourteen departments, supported by the college hospital, herbal garden, pharmacy and departmental museums.

Eligibility

10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology from a recognised board, with a valid NEET-UG score. Admission is made through the State Selection Committee constituted by the Govt. of Odisha.
Affiliated to Berhampur University, Bhanjavihar (Affiliation No. 11676 dt. 25.06.1982). Recognised by the Central Council of Indian Medicine / NCISM, New Delhi.
Course Structure

Four Professional Years

The B.A.M.S. course spans four and a half academic years followed by a compulsory rotating internship of one year.

Dravyaguna, Rasashastra & Bhaisajya Kalpana, Roga Nidan, Agadatantra.

3rd Professional

Swasthavritta & Yoga, Prasutitantra, Kaumarabhritya, Charak Samhita.

4th Professional

1½ years

Kayachikitsa, Panchakarma, Shalya, Shalakya and Research Methodology.

Following the fourth professional year, students undertake a compulsory rotating internship of one year across the departments of the college hospital.
